Flying the Pitts

In May of 2005, I went down to King City, CA for some dual instruction in a Pitts S-2C. Sean Tucker and Ken Erickson had a little flight school there that was (at that time) called Aviation Specialties Unlimited. They offered a 5 flight hour program called “Executive Pilot Awareness Training” (E-PAT). The cost of the program was $325 per flight hour and included aircraft, fuel, flight and ground instruction.

Since Sean Tucker’s sponsorship and affiliation with Tutima, the flight school has been renamed Tutima Academy of Flight Safety

I had a great time. And learned a lot about unusual attitude recovery and basic aerobatic maneuvers. I didn’t get fully checked out in the Pitts. But, Ken Erickson stayed hands-off almost 100% of the time, coaching me around the pattern and even through a couple of the landings.
